Screening of “White Van Stories”-CHRI’s Film Festival
December 12, 2019
Screening of “White Van Stories” on enforced disappearances in SL, at the CHRI’s Film Festival on “Freedom of Expression” was quite intense given the current political climate in the Indian Subcontinent. Post screening discussions were rich and immense sharing of rage and concerns.
Had a panel later with Senior Film Critic Shubhra Gupta alongwith Filmmaker and International Director of Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative – Sanjoy Hazarika, Filmmaker Sarvahara Pawan & RTI Activist Venkatesh Nayak on “Empathy & expression: Art in polarised times”
We are in dangerous era and the very soul of India is vandalised by the divisive forces that have taken this nation in their cruel hands. It is time we speak, write, create, show up for love and unity, resist fascism more fiercely than ever. Let us not fail humanity.

Independent Cinema in kerala is DYING
November 21, 2019
It is sad and harrowing that IFFK, the festival that I grew up with has reached this sorry state. It it time for IFFk to remember why it started and what it is meant for. A state patronised international film festival backed by tax payers money cant be rerunning blockbusters and have a jury who do not even care to watch all the films entered for pre-selection. Current leadership that has been proved corrupt and pushing their own agendas should go.
